Apartments | Rooms | Hotels Over the years I lived in some different apartments and hotels. Both ''Maridati''' and ''Nikos'' are considered now as my favourites apartments while "Hotel Hellas" is my favourite Hotel. The criteria by which I judge are certainly purely subjectively and do not correspond to the usual stereotypes according to which tour operators meet their selection.   Nikos apartments - Rooms to let   With Niki at "The Nikos" one lives in the village, is more or less merged into the village life and has only a few steps to the next ''Mini Market'' or to the next restaurant. Apartments and rooms were renewed in 2004 and are located at the end of a small road that comes from the main street leading to the olive groves. All appartments have balcony, kitchen, three rooms and a shower. Rooms offer balcony too and a shower. There are single and couple rooms available and guests are hosted by a lovely family taking lots of care on their customers. No roads, no cars, the sound of silence and just a few steps to the beach some 5 kilometers ot of Palekastro. But of course Maridati also offers rooms at a high standard and the owner Manoli Tsantakis is taking lot of care on his guests. His famous restaurant close to the apartements offers fresh fish daily and a great variety of typical local Crete food. [More on Maridatis here.]     Hotel Hellas at the main place At Hotel Hellas you live at the center of the town close to the main place but still quiet and very comfortable. The hotel was renewed in 1999 and offers high quality rooms and a nice and traditional Taverna with fine local food and top service. You are just a few steps away from the kafeneons and the bus stop. [More on Hotel Hellas here] Booking-Fee: In 2003 many customers made a booking in both Niki's and Maridati's but the owners were faced with a no-show. This is why since 2004 you have to pay a 25% fee of the whole cost prior to your stay to the account the owners will tell you by FAX or email. We're sorry but this is the only way to reduce no-shows which costs lot of money. Thanks for your understanding.
